Digital Foundry’s latest game analysis is the port collection of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue. The Assassin’s Creed Rebel Collection.
Assassin’s Creed Rebel Collection is available right now on the Nintendo Switch and seem to be basically ports of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of each game.
Assassin’s Creed Rebel Collection analysis summary
- Docked is a dynamic 1080p while portable is dynamic 720p
- Lowest resolution scale for Black Flag was about 900p and about 828p for Rogue when docked, no real mention of dropping below 720p portable
- Both games run at mostly 30 FPS locked, with the intro sequence of Black Flag dropping the FPS the most to around 25-30 FPS
- FPS is slightly better when playing portably, Black Flag intro sequence only drops to about 28 FPS for instance
- Both games have frame pacing issues
- Shadow quality and ambient occlusion are a bit better than on PS3/360
- Audio quality is lower than PS3/360, but not as bad as AC 3 on Switch
- Anti aliasing is slightly worse than on PS3/360, but the resolution boost on Switch makes up for it somewhat
- Mini map refreshes at 15 FPS
