Releasing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze seems to have been a golden move. What is not a total surprise of course because it is a super good game!
Sales in Japan
Dengeki online reports that the Tropical Freeze sales ratio on the Nintendo Switch is no less than 65% after the first week. Almost a doubling of the Wii U version at the time, which had sold only 35% of the shipped numbers in the same period.
Earlier we saw in the Japanese sales figures that this translated into 88,412 copies – a very strong start for Donkey Kong. For comparison: on the Wii U, this was just over 35,000 in the first week.
Donkey Kong Country – Tropical Freeze has been available on the Nintendo Switch since May 4th.
