Some unfortunate news for European fans looking to purchase the retail release of Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster on Nintendo Switch.
One physical one download
According to the Square Enix EU store, it seems like the game’s European release will be split into two parts. While Final Fantasy X HD Remaster will be a physical game cartridge, Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster will only be a one-use download code.
So far, the American Square Enix store does not reflect this same information – so it’s not clear if the game will be sold this way worldwide.
Regardless, this method of releasing half the bundle on a download code will definitely upset many collectors. It means that European owners might lose access to Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster in the future, when the Nintendo Switch eShop finally shuts down.
Guess we will be importing this again.
