Dear VillagersĀ unveiled Foretales, a new narrative-driven card game that will be released in Summer 2022 for Nintendo Switch. Players will assemble their own band of anthropomorphic heroes in order to escape a crumbling planet in this game.
About Foretales
The narrative of a falling planet condemned by a dreadful prophesy is told in Foretales. Assuming the role of avian small-time thief Volepain, you must construct your team by selecting anthropomorphic creatures such as tiger archer LĆ©o, gorilla Karst, elephant Isabeau, and parrot Pattenbois from a list of anthropomorphic characters. To create your route through a large range of scripted encounters and circumstances, use each character’s distinctive talents as well as consumable cards. Choose whether to approach a situation with stealth, deception, a trade, or plain old-fashioned fisticuffs.
Play the tale numerous times to unlock all narrative branches, uncover various answers to a single challenge, and maybe discover a means to do something that appeared impossible at first. Experiment with various card combinations to create your own tale with your own moral standards.
The tabletop mechanics of Foretales are brought to life via a beautiful graphical graphics style that harkens back to Disney’s golden age of 2D animation. The mood is reinforced by a music by famed composer Christophe HĆ©ral (of Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman Legends fame), and the narrator is played by prominent character actor Travis Willingham (whose IMDB biography is so extensive we wouldn’t know where to begin).
