It was reported that Game Freak’s Giga Wrecker Alt. would see a delay in the Japanese eShop. Fortunately, it looks like western players won’t suffer the same fate.

According to publisher Rising Star, the game is still hitting the Switch eShop on 2 May 2019, as originally scheduled.

West remains unaffected

Apparently, the ‘various circumstances’ which are affecting the Japanese launch will not extend to North America and Europe. We’ll report back if anything new crops up. Hopefully we’ll also get more details about the game’s supposed physical release through Limited Run Games, soon.

About Giga Wrecker Alt.

GIGA WRECKER Alt. is a mixture of exploration and physics. Bring down towering walls and then use the rubble as a platform for navigating each level. Mechanical skill and creative problem solving will be tested.

GIGA WRECKER was brought to life through Game Freak’s internal “Gear Project” where its developers are encouraged to come up with intriguing ideas for games outside the company’s normal. The game also features music by video game composer, Shinij Hosoe, known for Ridge Racer and Tekken, among many other titles.
