Rockstar Games has been seemingly ignoring the Nintendo Switch – with no plans to bring its massively popular Grand Theft Auto series to it at all.
Well, some folks from the Nintendo Switch homebrew community have recently flexed their homebrewing muscles to change that! The community managed to get Grand Theft Auto III running on the system with custom firmware!
GTAIII even runs pretty well
It even runs at a decent 1080p/30fps while docked and 720p/30fps while in handheld mode – which is fairly impressive for a bunch of independent fans.
Would you love to see official releases of any Grand Theft Auto game on Nintendo Switch?
We haven’t seen an official Grand Theft Auto title make its way to a Nintendo system since 2009 when Chinatown Wars launched on the DS. It doesn’t seem as though this will change anytime soon, either.
As always; no discussion on the how, what and where, Google that if needed. But it is once again damn impressive.
