Nintendo has uploaded trailers for upcoming free DLC characters Petey Piranha and Shy Guy for Mario Tennis Aces.

Yes they will be joining the earlier released Birdo and Koopa Paratroopa.
Users will be able to get Petey Piranha early by participating in an online singles tournament from December 1 to January 1, while Shy Guy can be obtained early by participating in an online doubles tournament during the same time frame.
Everyone will be able to obtain the characters (without participating in an online tournament) starting January 1.
Mario Tennis Aces is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
