Metroid Dread Version 2.1.0 Update – Boss Rush, Survival Rush and Dread Rush Modes

Metroid Dread Version 2.1.0 Update – Boss Rush, Survival Rush and Dread Rush Modes

The second free update for Metroid Dread has been issued by Nintendo. Three new Boss Rush modes will be available to players who upgrade their game to Version 2.1.0. The first is a conventional Boss Rush, while the others include a Survival Rush, in which players must beat as many bosses as possible in a 5-minute time restriction, and a Dread Rush, in which players will die in one hit.

Metroid Dread Version 2.1.0 Patch notes

New modes have been added

The game now includes three separate boss rush modes. To go to the Boss Rush selection screen, use the R button on the “Samus Files” screen.

  • Bosh Russ mode
    • A mode in which players compete for the best time by fighting 12 boss encounters in a row.
    • Any damage you take is carried over to the following battle. Between bouts, weapons are completely replenished.
    • If Samus is beaten, players may choose to “Retry” to restart the fight from the beginning. Being defeated, however, results in a time penalty.
    • Bosses may be faced one-on-one at any moment in Boss Rush by choosing “Practice.”
    • Unlocked by completing the main game once. (If a player finished the game before the update was published, they will be able to play Boss Rush right away following the update.)
  • Survival Rush
    • A mode in which players compete to see how many bosses they can beat in the allotted 5 minutes.
    • Any damage or weapons expended in one combat are carried over to the next. Even if there is still time on the clock, defeating Samus will result in a game over.
    • Defeating a boss will increase the countdown clock by a certain amount of time. To get an even higher time bonus, defeat a boss without taking any damage. Completing either Boss Rush or Dread Rush unlocks Survival Rush.
  • Dread Rush
    • The essential principles remain the same as in Boss Rush, with the exception that if Samus is struck by a boss, her energy is depleted and she is beaten.
    • By choosing “Practice,” you may fight Dread Rush’s bosses one-on-one at any time.
    • Unlocked by completing Dread Mode in the main game. (If a player finished Dread Mode before the update was published, they will be able to play Dread Rush right away after upgrading.)
  • General fixes
    • When Samus suffers damage and is defeated shortly after destroying a core unit, the Game Over screen will not appear correctly.
