Motion controls for Doom explained

Doom for the Nintendo Switch has one feature that will be exclusive to the console; the use of motion controls. At first we were not sure if this was a rumor or not. But more information has emerged.

Many gamers hoped that the game would have the same features as Splatoon 2, which enables more accurate aiming by moving the Joy-Cons instead of playing in handheld mode or through a Pro Controller.

This is only unfortunately not the case;

Glory Kill

The motion controls seem to have added value only when making a so-called ‘Glory Kill’. This can only be done when playing both Joy-cons, each in one hand, and at the time of your kill, moving the right Joy-con up and down.

If this is all the added value of motion controls for Doom on the Nintendo Switch, that would be a real shame because the added value is minimal.

Did you expect more out of Motion Controls for Doom? Or do you think that they are not always used to their full potential in other games as well? Let us know the world and the world!
