Motion controls required with Pokémon Let’s Go

The Pokémon Company has revealed that Pokémon Let’s Go has a mandatory motion control system for catching Pokémon.

Not everything is known about the Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee and Let’s Go, Pikachu games. However, there are still some uncertainties about how you capture Pokémon. In the trailer you could see that with the help of motion controls you could catch the Pokémon by making a movement with the Joy-Con.

Motion controls a must

The use of motion controls is mandatory in both handheld and TV mode. If you want to capture the Pokémon in handheld mode, you will still have to move the handheld yourself to aim. This way of catching is different from what we are used to from Pokémon GO, because the Nintendo Switch is a lot heavier than your smartphone.

You also do not use the touchscreen of the NintendoSwitch, but you press a button to throw the Poké Ball.

Do you think it’s a shame that motion controls in Pokémon Let’s Go seem to be mandatory?
