Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl having additional DLC fighters was a huge topic of discussion amongst fans since the game’s initial reveal and they will not get disappointed.
Game Informer recently sat down with Ludosity CEO Joel Nyström for a Q&A session, revealing some new pieces of information about the highly anticipated Smash Bros. inspired platform fighting game. When asked about the total roster size and post-launch plans, Nyström announced;
at launch, there will be 20 characters, with 2 more following soon after. Additional DLC characters will be revealed after that.

Other questions within the interview may also provide context as to what characters we should expect. In regards to representation for live-action shows, Nyström stated, “there are no live-action characters in our base lineup, and we are currently not looking at any for future characters either,” adding that, “you never know,” but the focus is mainly on cartoons due to their more wacky and creative movement potential.
However, not every Nickelodeon animated character is a shoe-in either, as there were apparently “global licensing issues” for a few of the fighters that Ludosity attempted for.
