The hybrid system was known as the Nintendo NX before it was officially titled and introduced as the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo utilized the NX brand to refer to the Switch both internally and publicly as the firm sought to build anticipation for the Switch’s release. (And because there wasn’t much else to get excited about during the Wii U period.)
From Nintendo NX to Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo NX system was titled and unveiled on October 20, 2016, with a slick video and was dubbed the Nintendo Switch.
But here’s something we never saw publicly: Nintendo’s internal NX logo, which was featured in early versions of Switch games.
Fast forward to present, and a new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe prototype has surfaced online, revealing the Nintendo NX starting and boot interface. The early logo and start up sequence were made internally during the console’s development and are being presented for the first time outside of Nintendo.
The Nintendo Switches Codename was the NX and this was an early Logo / Boot Up animation used during development of the Console ( It was found in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Prototype ) This was never seen outside Nintendo pic.twitter.com/B1bS5zCKOu
