During Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, they revealed updated figures for the Nintendo Switch Online service.
As of September 2021, Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions surpassed 32 million, an increase of around 6 million compared to last year. This figure presumably includes subscribers to the standard Nintendo Switch Online service, as well as the new Expansion Pack that was released recently.
Improve and expand
In the briefing, Nintendo voiced their commitment to improve expand both the regular Switch Online service as well as the Expansion pack to “satisfy customers”.
Going forward, we will continue to improve and expand both Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, striving to provide services that satisfy customers.
That said, they did not elaborate on what these plans might entail but the datamines have been promising.
But given that the Expansion Pack in particular has been controversial among Nintendo fans, Nintendo may need to look more closely at ways they can make the service more appealing to players.
