The Nintendo Switch Online app will be updated this summer, and it will need iPhones running iOS 14 or later.
We are now on iOS 15, and iOS 16 is expected to be released in September. However, if you have an older iPhone, the app will not work, which may be an issue for some. The iPhone 6S was the first smartphone to run iOS 14, so if you have that or a newer iPhone, you should be OK utilizing the Nintendo Switch Online app.

iOS requirement
We hope to upgrade the iOS version of the “Nintendo Switch Online” app in the summer of 2022. This update will upgrade the operating system to “iOS version 14.0 or later.” Please keep in mind that the software will not be accessible for smartphones running “iOS version 13 or earlier.”
