The physical version of Overcooked: Special Edition will be available early next year.
Overcooked! Special Edition published earlier this year in the Nintendo eShop and Switch is the same game as all previously released versions, but now all DLC will be directly included.
It also makes the game use the HD Rumble of the Joy-Con. So you actually feel the soup on a plate sloshing back and forth. The game is known for its multiplayer fun and of course Nintendo Switch is also using that. Up to four players can play together.
Earlier it was announced that a physical version was on the schedule, but is finally a date is known. The physical version of Overcooked: Special Edition appears February 13th in Europe.
Later Worms W.M.D. and Yoku’s Island Express will also be getting a physical release. For us that is reason enough to wait with the purchase because we prefer to expand our physical game collection.
