Shigeru Miyamoto said that Pikmin will return to consoles in 2019. PIKMIN 4 was announced in the latest Nintendo Direct. It will follow the titular Pikmin from a perspective that is closer to the ground.

The video shows how players can look at the world of Pikmin 4 from the point of view of a Pikimin. “The Nintendo Switch makes it easier to control the game, so you can focus on what makes Pikmin fun to play,” Miyamoto said. “In Japanese, we call it dandori, which means to plan, send out, and be in charge of the Pikmin strategically.”
In a news release, Nintendo pointed out that Pikmin wasn’t in the teaser trailer for Pikmin 4, but they promised more information before the game comes out on Switch next year.
This comes ten years after the last game in the series, which was remade for the Nintendo Switch as PIKMIN 3 Deluxe.
