Two individuals who uploaded footage from an unreleased Pokemon Sword & Shield strategy guide back in 2019, have to pay the Pokemon Company for damages.
Before the game launched they published footage from them to a Discord chat where the images spread.
They have to pay $150,000 each in damages and attorneys fees..
What did they do?
One of the defendants snapped images from an unreleased Pokemon Sword and Shield strategy guide while employed by the company. It seems the defendant was hired to print the strategy guide.
The other defendant shared photos which were snapped by the first defendant on a Discord chat where they then spread to a global audience.
So in short, don’t try to leak things that are being kept under wraps, companies don’t like that and will take action if needed.
