Famitsu published the sales data for the first two weeks of May 2019 in Japan a short while ago.
In Famitsu’s report, it seems Nintendo Switch lifetime sales in Japan have finally surpassed PlayStation 4 lifetime sales.
The numbers
The Switch has sold 8,125,637 consoles in its first 114 weeks, as compared to the PlayStation 4 (including PlayStation 4 Pro)’s 8,077,756 consoles in its first 272 weeks.
It would be an understatement to say the Nintendo Switch is doing well. As a fan since day 1 I personally have the feeling the SNES era vibe with the current Nintendo Switch generation. Anything and everything is coming to the Nintendo Switch, there are no real competitors in the form factor … it’s a great time to be a Nintendo fan for sure!
