Masahiro Sakurai took to his Famitsu column to proclaim that the Fighter Pass Vol.2 will be the final batch of downloadable content for Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Sakurai says that Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be the last DLC for Smash Ultimate in a new Famitsu column
All characters are chosen by Nintendo
As of right now, there is no new Smash game planned

He also went on to say that the characters themselves are chosen by the team at Nintendo and that he has no plans for a new Super Smash Bros game in the future.
Future for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
With that all being said, what does the future hold for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? Well we still have 6 new fighters to go. A lot of mii options we guess. A decent amount of Spirit Events. So in short there is still a lot coming our way the coming year and beyond that.
