Snake? Snake?! Snaaaake! – David Hayter still has to record!

David Hayter is known as the voice of Solid Snake in most of the Metal Gear Solid games. Amongst thos titles are Snake Eater for the Nintendo  3DS and Twin Snakes for the Nintendo Gamecube.

However, the iconic character was limited to his own universe in those titles.

Solid Snake

At the time of Nintendo Wii, Solid Snake was playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the first time. He is scheduled to make a return to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As we have learned in his recent Nintendo Direct reveal.

Unlike other characters, Solid Snake has a very specific characteristic. Like in the Metal Gear Solid series, he can conduct a codec conversation regarding each character. Take a look below to get an impression of what that entails;

David Hayter recently announced during a panel that he still needs to record codec conversations for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He also let it be known that Nintendo has asked for its help regarding the new characters for which there where no codecs. Besides that, David Hayter did not release much, which could have to do with a contract / embargo restricting him to.

Difficult characters

Besides Kirby, Solid Snake is a difficult customer for the developers … because both of these characters have a special interaction with everyone else. Kirby in it’s own right can of course swallow and get an ability out of everyone.

Are you looking forward to Solid Snake returning in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? Or is there something else you are looking forward to even more?
