The release date for Source Of Madness on Nintendo Switch and other platforms has been revealed by publisher Thunderful Games and developer Carry Castle.
The world and its horrific inhabitants alter and transform every day in Source Of Madness, a roguelite RPG set in a chaotic environment ruled by cosmic creatures. Source Of Madness distinguishes itself from other roguelites by including procedurally generated opponents built by a machine learning AI in addition to procedurally generated landscapes.
“With Source of Madness, we wanted to make a roguelite that does more than just rearrange level layouts and enemy combinations, but instead creates all new unholy beasts to face off against in each playthrough,” says Per Fornander, CEO of Carry Castle. “We knew we were opening Pandora’s box by unleashing so many permutations of machine learning AI monstrosities, but thanks to our audience of Early Access players, we were able to ensure that this multi platform launch is as sure thing.

The game’s full release date for Nintendo Switch and other platforms has been announced for May 11th, 2022.
About Source Of Madness
In Source of Madness, players take on the role of an acolyte in a parallel universe ruled by cosmic creatures. Each day, these planets bend and distort, leaving the Loam Lands terraformed in unpredictable ways and populated by bizarre heavenly beings. Your journey will lead you across nine biomes, from the depths of the Dungeon of Forgotten Knowledge, the eerie scenery of the Forest of Lies, to the vast non-euclidean citadel R’Lyeh, all the way up to celestial bodies on the rims of the universe, to find the root of this unfathomable evil.
Source of Madness operates at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, making the action smooth and responsive. Players may experience native 1080p quality at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Source of Madness runs at 1080p docked and 720p portable / tabletop mode on the Nintendo Switch, with 60 frames per second.
Each game will include up to billions of permutations of procedurally-generated critters created by a neural network that concocts creatures from an apparently limitless abyss. These physics-based monsters rise and stretch in billions of different ways, thanks to a strong machine-learning AI that will stop at nothing to make your life a living hell!
Use a wide variety of spells to combat these abominations. As you collect equipment and artifacts left behind by those who came before you, you can choose between five classes, develop your talents, and unlock a variety of magical abilities. As you progress, infuse the blood of your foes into magical altars to gain access to new spells. But beware: every time you die, the world is reborn, and all of your belongings are lost.
