The next big Splatoon 2 update will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch tomorrow. It will be available at precisely 5pm PT in North America.
New features
Some of the newly added features will be changes to the performance of some main, sub and special weapons. There will also be the obligatory bug fixes.
To download the updates for Splatoon 2 manually, you have three options:
- Let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off
- Try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;
- Select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.
To check that you have the latest version installed, simply launch the game: the version number is displayed in the top right corner of the title screen. Alternatively, you can check out the Options page of the game (+ or – from the Home Menu).
Either way we should get full patch notes once the update is live.
