According to what a Starbreeze representative said to Kotaku, they want to add voice chat to the game, but Nintendo hasn’t allowed it yet. They said that “we are waiting to be able to participate in Nintendo’s VOIP app solution. As soon as we are given the go-ahead, this is definitely on our list to look into to update”.
Nintendo’s response wasn’t immediate, but they later told Kotaku that “voice chat is only enabled in games that have been specifically designed to use the feature in conjunction with the Nintendo Switch smart device application”.
