Super Mario Maker 2 – Will get New Course Parts in future updates

Nintendo released a new update for Super Mario Maker 2, introducing more multiplayer and control options.

What’s new in Super Mario Maker 2

The game now lets people play online with friends in both multiplayer versus and multiplayer cooperative modes.

The Play With Friends feature is now available from the network play menu in Super Mario Maker 2. The feature will let players select courses from Course World and those save to Coursebot. Additionally, the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app is now supported in Super Mario Maker 2 for voice chat.

Super Mario Maker 2 also now supports LAN Play and has new features for Nearby Play. From Nintendo:

  • You can now play in Multiplayer Co-op mode as well as Multiplayer Versus mode.
  • You can now select courses uploaded to Course World as well as courses saved to Coursebot.
  • When playing a course saved to Coursebot, the host system doesn’t need to be connected to the internet.

Future plans

Besides that update, Nintendo of America has announced more updates are on the way, and promised future updates will include new course parts. They didn’t elaborate what kind of course parts though, so we will have to wait and see.

There is now also the ability to use touch-screen & button controls when creating courses in Handheld mode! Be sure to look forward to additional game updates, including new course parts in the future.
