Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was the bestselling product in the video game category on Amazon US in 2018. That should not come as a surprise.
First Bestselling videogame in 6 years
Besides this incredible achievement, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has achieved another milestone. It’s the first video game in six years to actually rank as the bestselling product of the video game category in a year.
But there where other bestsellers?
Yes but this is because in every year between 2013 and 2017, the bestselling video game product on Amazon were either PlayStation Plus or PlayStation Store download codes. Which are not a physical videogame product and therefore don’t belong under that specification.
Before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the last video game to rank as bestselling video game was Halo 4 in 2012.
