The Bakram, who made up a large portion of Valeria’s aristocracy, the Galgastani, whose people made up the bulk of the isle’s population, and the Walister, who numbered comparatively few, all fought for dominance after the king’s death.

The Bakram and Galgastani eventually partitioned the isles, and an uneasy peace descended across the whole continent. However, none thought the quiet would last.
