But we’ve received an update from Team Cherry. In the update, the studio explained that making a physical version of the game, even with Skybound’s help, proved to be too much work for the 3 people team to handle.
Despite the setback, Team Cherry promises to look into “other ways” of releasing the physical version, though it will likely be in smaller quantities.
Limited, Super Rare or Fangamer?
Perhaps they could be looking into working with Limited Run Games, Super Rare Games or Fangamer instead? Those companies are bringing the more dare we say cult classics to games physically to gamers around the world and are doing a damn great job. (We can say so because we have physical copies of Oceanhorn, Undertale and Worms WMD).
We know Team Cherry and Fangamer have an active relation when it comes to merchandise … so who knows. I would buy a Hollow Knight bundle including pins, hoodie etc if that became a thing in a heartbeat … just saying.
