Nintendo has announced Tetris 99‘s 23rd Maximus Cup. It will begin on August 6th. This time, the theme is based on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
It has been less than a month since The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
The #Tetris99 23rd MAXIMUS CUP event will run from 12am PT, August 6 – 11:59pm PT, on August 9! 23rd MAXIMUS CUP
The Tetris 99 23rd MAXIMUS CUP event runs from 12 a.m. PT on August 6 to 11:59 p.m. PT on August 9.
To participate, you’ll need to be a Nintendo Switch Online member* and play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. You’ll earn event points based on your placement in each match. Once you’ve accumulated a total of 100 event points, a new theme will unlock, featuring art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by the recently released The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD game!

Tetris 99 has been doing Maximus Cup events every now and again. These usually happen to celebrate some first-party content that recently launched on the Nintendo Switch, usually a game, and the theme you can unlock during the event is usually based on what the first-party content is.
