Nintendo announced the 30th Maximus Cup for Tetris 99, which will provide players with the opportunity to unlock unique themes based on other Nintendo Switch titles if they have not already done so.
Super Mario 3D World Plus Bowser’s Fury, Miitopia, Mario Golf: Super Rush, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, WarioWare: Get It Together!, and Samus Edition will compete in separate rounds.
Tetris 99 30th Maximus Cup
The 30th Maximus Cup competition for Tetris 99 will be between August 5 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET and August 10 at 11:59 PM PT / August 11 at 2:59 AM ET. Six consecutive rounds are scheduled, which are as follows:
- Round 1 rewards the Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury theme and runs from midnight to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on August 5.
- Round 2 rewards the Miitopia theme and runs from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on August 6.
- Round 3 rewards the Mario Golf: Super Rush theme and runs from August 7 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Round 4 rewards the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD theme and runs from August 8 at 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Round 5 rewards the WarioWare: Get It Together! theme and runs on August 9 from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Round 6 rewards the Samus Edition theme and runs from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on August 10.
Historically, 100 event points were necessary to access these themes. In the future Maximus Cup, however, just 10 event points are required for each round.
