Did you notice the number of new Pokemon revealed for Pokemon Sword and Shield before its official launch? Well it is less than previous titles.
Famitsu asked Game Freak and The Pokemon Company whether that was intentional.
Intentional or not? Find out!
Famitsu: If we compare the number of new Pokemon officially revealed for Pokemon Sword / Shield and the number of new Pokemon officially revealed for past titles, we find that the number to be lesser than before. Wass that intentional?
Masuda: That’s a fairly tough question. I will let The Pokemon Company PR spokesperson Obara answer that one.
Obara: So as mentioned, yes, I can confirm it’s intentional that we revealed lesser new Pokemon before launch of Pokemon Sword and Shield. The reason is we want everyone to play and encounter new Pokemon by themselves in the games themselves.
As these titles have the same essence of what makes Pokemon fun, we hope you will look forward and enjoy.
