Warned Collectors – Games not in production

Warned Collectors, a French company that promised Nintendo Switch physical games in limited quantities, received lots of backlash from customers.

To assure customers that they were still hard at work in delivering their first Nintendo Switch release Pankapu, Warned Collectors posted screenshots from the Nintendo Developer Portal, which is under NDA (non-disclosure agreement), on Twitter … yeah that is normally something you do not see as it is NDA for a reason.

Super Rare Games clears things up

Super Rare Games, a well known company that deals with limited run Nintendo Switch games, soon discovered that there isn’t any game code assigned to Warned Collectors’ physical release of Pankapu, which means the game has not gone into production yet:

Normally without a valid game code from Nintendo, it is impossible for Warned Collectors to put in an order for Game Cards. Without a game code, the game is simply not close to production.

Earlier claims

With that information, Warned Collectors’ claims that the “games are in production” in April 2019 and May 2019 seem a bit shady to say the least.

Developers that have signed for releases with Warned Collectors have also been kept in the dark it seems;

Nothing, blank, nada… We have no information at all from them since few weeks, and indeed we are asking ourself the same questions as you have. Have we been fooled too? We’ll try to directly call them.

The developers of Zombie Night Terror still have “no news” after directly calling them, aside from public information on the Warned Collectors website.

Cash flow?

Members of the Nintendo Switch community and various members of the French video game press have expressed their worries and concerns over the situation at Warned Collectors. Some parties have hinted at a serious cash flow problems, and it would be hard to turn things round without external help for Warned Collectors.

Even though that might be something hard to acknowledge we think Warned Collectors is best to be open about the situation, only that way can they save face and perhaps regain a portion of trust from both the community and the developers.
