3 years ago, when Nintendo Switch shortages lasted for months in Japan, people where asked to sign up for a lottery, where they could win a chance to buy a Nintendo Switch.
Well guess what is back?
Due to the current shortage that was caused by the Wuhan coronavirus, Japanese retailer Joshin has brought back their Nintendo Switch lotteries.
This time round, customers will have to sign up on the Joshin app for a chance to buy the system. The period to sign up ranged from February 12 to February 17, 2020, and winners where announced on February 21st.
Let’s hope though that this phenom will not become as widespread as it was years ago. And let’s hope it does not spread to other countries even thought the chatter does seem to indicate the possibility of this happening if the virus keeps as active as it is now.
