Ok, unfortunately due to some personal thingsĀ I forgot to make an item with the results of what you voted for on Game of the Year. Of course you could already see that through the poll but not everyone takes that detour.

Winner GOTY2018 –Ā Super Smash Bros. UltimateĀ
As expected, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is on the number 1 spot, and let’s keep it short; it deserves it in full. It’s simply a celebration of so much gaming history and if I’ve played a bit of single player and am nowhere near complete with already 60+ hours in. That in itself says a lot.
Also for people who would not call themselves a Smash fan … buy this game … you really will not regret it.
Runner up – 2nd place – Hollow Knight
Wow, I am amazed that it has made it to the second place even though I also voted on it. But I am very happy for Hollow Knight. It is a title that is worth so much more than the price that the developers ask for it. The gameplay, the music, the style, everything makes this game really good and then to note that it is an indie title and even the first title of Team Cherry.
I am already looking forward to the forthcoming paid DLC for Hollow Knight.
Shared 3rd place – Octopath Traveler and Dead Cells
In all honesty, I have played too little Octopath Traveler to really have an opinion about it. Beyond the fact that the unique style and music are brilliant. I let the trailer speak on my behalf but I hear from so many people that it is a masterpiece of a game.
About Dead Cells on the other hand … I could write a book about that. But I will try to keep it short. When I started with Dead Cells I did not think that the roguelite aspect would pull me in that much but I am addicted to Dead Cells because it always forms a fresh and challenging expereince. As far as I know, I have achieved everything that can be achieved now … 4 boss cell and malaise are a pain in the ass.
In addition, I am already looking forward to what Motion Twin is going to do in the upcoming update. The alpha on PC and feedback on it is that it is going to be difficult and that there will be a fifth boss cell. Oehh I look forward to the agony and joy all at once.
