In an interview with GamesIndustry, James Chan, director of operations, stated that the studio is focused on developing for Nintendo Switch.
He also said Yacht Club Games is appreciate of those who supported Shovel Knight since the Wii U days.

It was so early that we benefited from people having nothing else to buy. We were lucky then, but we still see that Switch is a really good platform for us. It is where the players who speak our language are. It will definitely be our main focus.
Chan also revealed Shovel Knight has sold 2.65 million copies across all platforms which certainly is not a bad sales number.
I love he mentioned “It is where the players who speak our language are”. It is something I have hold on to for Nintendo for oh so long. It’s not always about being the most graphically impactful game. It is about telling stories and great gameplay. Nice to see Yacht Club Games are also on board when it comes to that philosophy.
