Nintendo has taken down Pikmin 3 from the Wii U Nintendo eShop, following the announcement of Pikmin 3 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch.
Reason behind the take down is unknown, but the pricing difference may be an issue as Pikmin 3 was going for USD19.99 on the Wii U, while Pikmin 3 Deluxe will retail for USD59.99.
Which is not the first time
This is pretty much similar to whatever happened with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
But still keep in mind the Deluxe version on Nintendo Switch will have various things extra going for it like;
- 2P co-op: Journey through the main story in two player co-op* on the same console!
- New adventures: Go it alone or team up with a friend to take on brand new prologue and epilogue stories starring Pikmin and Pikmin 2 heroes Olimar and Louie!
- Quality of life improvements: Expand your exploration with an enhanced lock-on targeting system, enemy balancing changes, multiple difficulty modes, optional hints and more.
- Piklopedia: Unlock profile entries for each character and find out their unique perspectives on each creature you discover.
So all in all I don’t mind the price at all.
