Capcom seeking licensing partners for Mega Man’s 35th Anniversary

In 2022, the Mega Man series will turn 35th years old. While things have been quiet for the series so far, it looks like fans may have some exciting new announcements to look forward to!

Capcom’s licensing webpage is seeking partners to help produce “special products and events” for the franchise’s 35th anniversary. Usually, this is a sign that the company wants to celebrate the occasion.

What to expect

In the past Capcom sent out a similar recruitment call for Mega Man X’s 25th anniversary in 2016. That previous event saw the release of various goods and figures, and eventually culminated in the launch of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 in 2018.

Capcom also sought out licensing partners for Mega Man Battle Network’s 20th anniversary.

And although this has not materialized in the form of any Legacy Collection releases or new games yet, the company has asked fans to be “patient” for more news amid the global pandemic situation.
