Famitsu published sales data for the Nintendo Switch in Japan. According to their data, the Nintendo Switch has now sold over 20 million units (20,018,278 units) in Japan as of May 30th 2021.
Around 16.1 million were for the regular Nintendo Switch (16,168,420 units), while 3.8 million were for the Nintendo Switch Lite (3,849,858 units).
Best selling titles
Famitsu also published updated figures for the Top 5 best selling Switch games in Japan based on physical sales.
The list has largely remained unchanged from the previous, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons sitting at the top, followed by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon Sword And Shield:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 6,778,146 units
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 4,285,272 units
- Pokemon Sword and Shield – 4,052,668 units
- Splatoon 2 – 3,868,221 units
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 3,844,200 units
