Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak version 12.0.0 patch notes

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak just got its major 12.0.0 update, and Capcom has now released the full patch notes. There are new features and changes, and a lot of bugs have been fixed.

  • What’s new or different?
    • New Parts of the Story
      • There are now new monsters that will show up in Gathering Hub quests.
      • The game now has new afflicted monsters and a new Risen elder dragon.
      • There are now more quests to do.
      • The limit on the level of Anomaly Research has been raised.
      • Anomaly Investigations now has a higher level cap.
      • On Anomaly Investigations, there are now more kinds of monsters than before.
      • When you join an Anomaly Investigation through a Join Request, you can now see all of the quest details.
      • There are now new weapons, armor, layered gear, skills, and ways to use them.
      • For weapons, a system of layered equipment has been added.
      • The lottery at the Market now has more prizes.

      • There are now new Guild Card rewards and titles.
      • “Fixed Items” can now be shown or hidden in your item bar (Whetstone, Close-range Coating, Normal Ammo 1, Throwing Kunai, and BBQ Spit).

    • Player
      • 【Hunter】
        • It is now easier to go from standing still after a sheathed dash to crouching.
        • Long Sword: Made it easier for Harvest Moon’s follow-up attacks to hit a big monster that moves quickly and far.
        • Long Sword: Fixed a bug where the Harvest Moon effect would stick around if you used a Radial Menu shortcut to use an item while the Harvest Moon effect was active and then drew your weapon in the middle of the animation.
        • Dual Blades: Fixed a bug where, when your Demon Gauge was full and you were in Demon Mode or Feral Demon Mode, taking damage during the Swap Evade that happens at level 2 of the skill Redirection would accidentally cancel Archdemon Mode.
        • Dual Blades: Fixed an issue where doing a Switch Skill Swap in Demon Mode or Feral Demon Mode while the Dango Shifter skill is active would cause two healing effects to happen.
        • Lance: Fixed a bug that made it hard to put the Lance back into its sheath when you stopped moving with it drawn.
        • Hammer: Fixed a bug that caused the Bladescale Hone skill to not work right after using Spinning Bludgeon: Charge and then using Charge Switch to dodge an attack.
        • Hunting Horn: Fixed a bug where Silkbind Shockwave’s follow-up attacks would cause status buildup visual effects even though the attacks didn’t do anything to build up status.
        • Switch Axe: Fixed a bug that caused Zero Sum Discharge Finisher to sometimes go off in the wrong place.
        • Charge Blade: Comboing with a sword is now easier: When a shield is pushed into an axe, the element discharges faster.
        • Charge Blade: Fixed an issue where a successful hit with Air Dash would make you immune to flinching for the duration of the action, but the damage reduction would end too soon.
        • Insect Glaive: Fixed a bug where, if you used Recall Kinsect right before passing out, the health meter would mistakenly show that you still had health (as if the health recovery had happened in time) at the moment you passed out.
        • Light Bowgun: Fixed a bug where the increased damage from Quickstep Evade wouldn’t work right if a Mech Silkbind Shot was done too soon after a Quickstep Evade.
        • Light Bowgun: Fixed a bug where the Type 2 setting in Directional Control Settings didn’t work right when using the Fanning Maneuver skill.
        • Heavy Bowgun: Fixed a bug that caused a random rate of fire when the Crouching Shot skill was equipped and a single shot was fired quickly and repeatedly.
        • Heavy Bowgun: Fixed an issue where you couldn’t fire your weapon right after using Tackle to cancel a Free Silkbind Glide when the Crouching Shot skill was equipped.
        • Heavy Bowgun: Fixed a bug that caused the sound of some heavy bowgun shots to change depending on the custom mods they were using.

        • It is now possible to use a Healing Clover Bat when attacking while riding a Palamute with certain Palamute gear on.
        • Changed how Palamute Silkbinder and Ranged-Centric work together and how their attacks work.
      • 【Followers】
        • Fixed a bug where the system message telling you that you got an item for helping a fallen Follower wouldn’t show up correctly.
        • Followers would sometimes stop crouching or crawling when they shouldn’t have. This has been fixed.
        • Fixed a bug that could cause your Follower to run in circles.
        • Followers who are Wyvern Riding in a different part of the map will no longer be chased by big monsters.
        • Followers would keep attacking a large monster even after it had been killed. This has been fixed.
        • Followers couldn’t get off their Palamutes when they wanted to use a ranged weapon. This has been fixed.
        • Fixed an issue where the large monster you are currently fighting could go after a Follower who used a Stinkmink before leaving the area to Wyvern Ride another monster.
        • Fixed a bug that caused Fiorayne’s lines of dialogue to pop up quickly and constantly for a while.
        • When using the bow, Hinoa would stay in place and keep coating the arrows over and over again.
        • There was a bug that caused Minoto to stop attacking when the monster you were fighting had an abnormal status.
        • The player will no longer get hurt by the life traps that come with Fugen.

        • There was a bug where effects that made monsters drop more materials would also make other materials drop less often.
        • Fixed a bug that caused some monsters to keep running into walls.
        • Some monster attacks could sometimes go through walls and other obstacles. This has been fixed.
        • Fixed a bug that made attacks that cause explosions not work right on sloping ground.
        • Fixed a bug that caused Scorned Magnamalo and Teostra, Kushala Daora, or Bazelgeuse to do twice as much damage when they fought over territory.
        • Fixed a bug where some small monsters in the Arena had less health than they should have.
        • Boggi: Fixed a bug that was making some of Boggi’s attacks do no damage.
        • Great Baggi: Fixed an issue where Great Baggi couldn’t climb all the way up the wall in some parts of the Frost Islands locale.
        • Daimyo Hermitaur: Fixed an issue where the Daimyo Hermitaur would get stuck while moving in some parts of the Shrine Ruins.
        • Rathian: Fixed a bug that made it so Rathian couldn’t climb the wall all the way up in some places.
        • Basarios: Fixed a bug that allowed Basarios to use its flame gas attack even when it was too tired to do so.
        • Shogun Ceanataur: Fixed a bug where the Shogun Ceanataur’s attacks couldn’t make other monsters mountable.
        • Shogun Ceanataur: Made it easier for short-reach weapons to hit large Shogun Ceanataurs.
        • Magnamalo and Scorned Magnamalo: Fixed an issue where some of the attacks used by master-rank Magnamalo or Scorned Magnamalo when its tail is not shrouded in Hellfire would mistakenly give the player Hellfireblight.
        • Almudron and Magma Almudron: Fixed an issue where Almudron and Magma Almudron would act strangely when downed or affected by certain status effects near a ledge.
        • Magma Almudron: Fixed a bug where the damage effects and vibration would go away when the hide toughness of Magma Almudron changed and Silkbind Sakura Slash was used on it.
        • Mizutsune: Fixed a bug that caused Mizutsune’s double-charging attack to hit multiple times by accident.
        • There was a bug where the turf war between Mizutsune and Astalos could happen even though there was a wall between them.
        • Espinas: Fixed a bug that caused Espinas to appear in the wrong place when it was sleeping during multiplayer.
        • Espinas: Fixed a bug where a Espinas’s toad prey wouldn’t go away properly if you stopped it from hunting while it was doing so.
        • Pyre Rakna-Kadaki: Fixed an issue where Pyre Rakna-cocoon Kadaki’s could not be broken if the cocoon break and a status effect happened at the same time.
        • Gaismagorm: Fixed a bug where Gaismagorm’s breath attack while climbing a wall could hit outside of where it was supposed to.
        • Wind Serpent Ibushi: Fixed a bug where sometimes the wrong music would play after the Dragonator became available during the fight with Wind Serpent Ibushi.
        • Furious Rajang: Fixed a bug where putting Furious Rajang to sleep after a failed restraint attack would not make it drop a boulder it was holding.
        • Crimson Glow Valstrax: Fixed a bug where his bite attack would sometimes hit multiple times by accident.
        • Crimson Glow Valstrax: Fixed an issue where Crimson Glow Valstrax’s comet attack couldn’t be heard in some parts of the Jungle location.

      • Fixed a bug that could cause the player to get stuck on a Palamute in some places in the Frost Islands and Jungle.
      • Fixed a bug that caused monsters in Area 7 of the Jungle location to get stuck on the edge of a cliff.
      • Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck on certain trees in Area 9 of the Jungle location.
      • Fixed a bug that made it possible for the player to fall through the ground in some parts of the Citadel area.
      • Fixed a bug that could cause the player to get stuck in the air while falling in some parts of the Citadel location.
      • Fixed a bug where the player could fall through the ground in parts of the Jungle and Citadel after using a Great Wirebug.
      • Fixed a bug that could cause a player to get stuck in certain parts of the Frost Islands location.
      • Fixed a problem where the music and other sound effects in Area 5 of the Lava Caverns didn’t work right for a short time.
    • “Endangered Life”
      • When you throw a Marionette Spider, it is now easier to hit your target.
      • During an Anomaly Investigation, if you hit a monster with a Puppet Spider for the first time, you couldn’t get it into a state where you could mount it. This has been fixed.
      • In some Support Surveys, the information about what a Scale Lizard drops when it dies was wrong.
      • Fixed a bug where Morphed Wirebugs that guest players got wouldn’t show up again when they played online.
    • Base and Equipment
      • 【Base】
        • In some parts of Elgado Outpost, the player could fall through the ground. This has been fixed.
      • 【Facilities】
        • After doing certain things at the Smithy or in the item box, you could no longer go past the second page of the list of decorations.
        • Fixed a problem with the decoration box where some decorations would temporarily stop being selectable if they were on a page of your decoration list that disappeared after selling decorations (and thereby reducing the number of pages on your decoration list).
        • While using the Set Decorations function, if you held down the left or right arrow key, you couldn’t turn the page in the Decorations list.
        • When using Melding—Reincarnation at the Melting Pot in the Market, the chance of getting a secondary skill on a talisman has gone up.
        • There was a problem with Hinoa’s small talk that would happen after she passed Special License Test 1.
        • There was a bug where hunting variant monsters didn’t properly unlock the base monster’s soundtrack.
        • Fixed a bug that made it look like the skill cost for the top skill in the Skills to Teach window of the Buddy Skill Lesson wasn’t in the right place.
        • The Anomaly Research Lab now has Basarios Pallium as an item that can be traded for.

      • 【Quests】
        • Fixed the money and Master Rank points that the 2 MR quest Plant Probe Pests gave as rewards.
        • Hunter Rank points have been changed from 4,480 to 4,510 for Advanced: True King of the Skies.
        • Solid Bone has taken the place of Stoutbone as the reward for Optional Subquests at Master Rank.
        • Fixed a bug that caused a quest search to go on forever if a player tried to join a quest via Join Request at the same time that the quest ended.
        • The chance of getting cursed materials from rewards for carving and broken parts has gone up.
        • Because of the player’s Anomaly Research Level, it is now easier for research requests with less strict requirements to show up.
        • Fixed a bug that caused Anomaly Investigations’ search settings to be reset if the setting application failed or was stopped.
        • Fixed a bug where, during a multiplayer Anomaly Investigation, if the maximum number of Anomaly Research Points for an area had been reached, the message saying so would not show up after gathering an item at an affected gathering point.
      • 【Equipment】
        • Fix: In the Basario Tree, the names of a light bowgun and a heavy bowgun were given to the wrong bowgun types.
        • Gaia Eater Volarevolver is a light bowgun.
        • Heavy Bowgun: Gaia Eater Volarevolver
        • The rarity of Royal Order’s Bow went from 8 to 9.
        • Rarity went from 8 to 9 for the Diamond Dust Bow+.
        • The name of the arm piece in the Espinas set of armor has been fixed.
        • Fixed a bug that made it so the player’s hair didn’t show up when they wore Type 1 of the Edel armor set.
        • Fixed a bug that made it so the player’s hair didn’t show up when they wore Type 2 of the Vaik armor set.
        • Fixed a problem with the setting for the color pigment area on the Type 2 Commission Vest armor.
        • Fixed some problems with the default color settings of layered equipment for Palico and Palamute.
        • The Platinum Dawn sword and shield, which was mistakenly called the Shining Wyvern Blade, now has the correct name and description.
        • Fixed a bug that made the bow’s shadow show up in a different place when the player was using a bow made with Lunagaron materials.

        • When switching to a different light bowgun loadout than the one you have equipped for your Switch Skill, the values for recoil and reload would show up wrong.
        • Fixed a bug that let the Great Wirebug Medal from guild cards be given out under the wrong circumstances.
        • Fixed a bug that caused the Qurious Crafting icon to show up next to an armor slot for an Augmented piece of armor on the equipment page of the guild card, even after the piece of armor was taken off.

        • Fixed a bug where the sound of the explosion after Shagaru Magala’s breath attack wouldn’t change even if all the sound settings were turned off.
        • Fixed a bug where Dame Luchika would still speak in Japanese even if the language setting was changed to Monster Hunter Language.

    • When changing the color of a Palico with a Type 6 coat, the Pattern Color (Section 3) area was in the wrong place. This has been fixed.
    • Fixed a bug that caused messages that weren’t meant to be there to show up in the chat log for players in a lobby.
    • Fix: Messages in a lobby’s chat log that said a quest had been posted didn’t show up right when they should have.
    • During the scene where you finish a quest, the camera would get stuck in the ground. This has been fixed.
    • Fixed a problem where the description of “Supple Piel,” a Zamite material, said that it came from a Leviathan.
    • Fixed a mistake in how level 3 of the Super Recovery Dango skill was described. It now says the right thing: “When you’re not being watched by a big monster.”
    • Fixed a bug that made it impossible for the player to close the error message that showed up when they looked at a guild card with a picture data error.
