Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – Version 1.2.0 patch notes

The Pokemon Company has stated that a fresh new software update would be distributed in order to remedy some of the flaws that were present with the debut of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, which was not in a decent form when it was first released.

While though specific performance tweaks aren’t explicitly listed in the patch notes, which you can read below, the substantial new Version 1.2.0 update for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet offers a plethora of improvements and changes that should result in an overall improved experience for gamers.

Version 1.2.0 patch notes

  • Feature Adjustments
    • There will be enhancements made to the following aspects of Pokémon Boxes:
    • Players will be able to modify a Pokémon’s nickname, markings, held objects, and titles that are tied to a mark or Ribbon from the Pokémon’s summary. Players will also be able to rearrange moves, have Pokémon recall moves, have Pokémon forget moves, and employ TMs.
    • While in the Held Items screen, players will be able to switch out the things they are holding by hitting the Y Button.
    • While transferring Pokémon or objects in the Party and Boxes view or the Held Items view, players will have the option to pick All Boxes as a destination for their actions.
    • If you are viewing a Battle Team, any Pokémon in your Boxes that are already assigned to a Battle Team will have their icons shown in a darker color, and if those Pokémon are members of the Battle Team that is now being displayed, their icons will be displayed in an even darker color.
    • When you connect to the internet from the main menu, the same screen that appears when you connect to the internet via the Poké Portal — namely, the News screen — will be shown.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Tera Raid Battles
      • During Tera Raid Battles, a bug may occur that prevents the health bar of an opposing Tera Pokémon from accurately reflecting the damage done by certain moves (such as Play Rough) or certain status conditions. This may cause the health bar of the Tera Pokémon to fluctuate in a manner that is not typical. This will be corrected shortly.
      • In black crystal Tera Raid Battles against Pokémon with the Mightiest Mark, there is a possibility that a glitch can occur that will force all of the Pokémon on your side to faint at the same time, despite the fact that their HP gauges indicate that they still have HP. This will be corrected shortly.
      • If a Tera Pokémon makes certain actions while the player is selecting the target of their move, a glitch may occur that momentarily prevents the player from providing any input into the game. This may happen if the player is trying to choose who they want to attack with their move. This will be corrected shortly.
      • When a player connects to a Tera Raid Fight and sees a Pokémon that is different from the one shown on the screen of the host, it is possible that a glitch may arise that will result in a connection error. This will be corrected shortly.
      • If a player joins a Tera Raid Battle from the Tera Raid Battles search screen, there is a chance that they may be placed in a Tera Raid Battle against a Pokémon that is different from the one that was listed on the screen. This is due to a glitch in the game. This will be corrected shortly.
      • Under specific conditions, a bug may manifest itself that prevents Tera Raid Battle crystals from populating the world for a certain period of time. This will be corrected shortly.
  • Battles
    • When choosing a move or target in Double Battles, type matchups versus Pokémon who have fainted will no longer show. This change will take effect immediately.
    • If a Zoroark has Terastallized and is masquerading as another Pokémon using its Illusion Ability, it is still possible to determine that the Zoroark in question is a Zoroark by using the option to Verify Target. This is a glitch that will be rectified shortly.
    • When a Zoroark that has been Terastallized and is using its Illusion Ability to disguise itself as another Pokémon, the type matchups of moves are determined based on the type of the Pokémon that Zoroark is disguised as, rather than Zoroark’s Tera Type. This occurs even if Zoroark is using a move that has a type matchup with Zoroark’s Tera Type. This is a glitch that will be rectified shortly.
    • When a Dondozo with a Tatsugiri in its mouth uses Order Up, the Dondozo will see a rise in its stats, even though the move should have had no effect because of the Tatsugiri (for example, by an opponent using Protect). This is a glitch that will be rectified shortly.
    • If a Pokémon uses Destiny Bond, then Terastallizes, and then faints after using Destiny Bond, the consequences of Destiny Bond will not be activated. This is a glitch that will be rectified shortly.
  • Other
    • We are going to look at a problem that, in some places, may result in the game having to be exited abruptly. It is possible that as a consequence of this patch, there will be a drop in the number of Pokémon and humans exhibited in some towns or in the wild.
    • When a Pokémon that is not already in the Paldea Pokédex is acquired via a Link Trade, the Pokémon is shown as being registered to the Paldea Pokédex even if it did not contribute to the creation of the Paldea Pokédex. This is a glitch that will be rectified shortly.
    • It’s possible that some activities will prevent the main character’s expression from changing until after the game has been saved and loaded again. This will be corrected shortly.
    • After the conclusion of the first season of Ranked Battles, certain players encountered a bug that caused a communication error when they tried to access the Ranked Battles screen immediately after the season’s results had been tallied. This error occurred shortly after these players had been given their rewards. As a result of this issue, players were unable to take part in any more Ranked Battles. This will be corrected shortly.
    • It is possible that a player will not be awarded the Master Rank Ribbon after winning Ranked Battles in the Master Ball Tier if they have established several Battle Teams but do not utilize the Battle Team that is assigned to the first slot for their Ranked Battles. This will be corrected shortly.
    • According to what is indicated in the profile app (“Pokémon captured at Lv. XX or lower will listen to your instructions”), if a Pokémon you caught comes back to you from another player using Link Trade, it may not listen to your commands despite the fact that it was originally caught by you. This will be corrected shortly.
    • There is a bug in the Pokédex that prevents it from displaying additional entries for Pokémon species that have already been registered in the Pokédex. These additional entries could include Pokémon that were received through Surprise Trade from players who play in a different language or entries for Shiny Pokémon. This will be corrected shortly.
    • Unintentionally, some areas of the field may include particular items, such as Poké Balls. These occurrences are possible. This will be corrected shortly.
    • During the main plot, some conflicts that take place in towns will no longer show passersby. This change is part of the main tale.
    • There will also be a few further bug fixes done.
  • Notes:
