Coming west?

On April 21, 2022, Yomawari 3 will be released in Japan on the Nintendo Switch. At this moment, no western release date has been disclosed, although NIS America may follow up with foreign news at a later point. The first two games in the series are already available globally on Nintendo Switch.

About Yomawari

Yomawari: Night Alone, the first game in the series, was published in Japan in 2015 for the PlayStation Vita and PC. Yomawari: Midnight Shadows, a sequel, was published in 2017. Both games were released in English, while Yomawari: The Long Night Collection was released in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch.

Players explore using a torch in the games. A little girl searches for a lost dog and the protagonist’s sister in the first game. A heartbeat mechanism is utilized to warn players whether a creature is close while they are exploring the environment, prompting the protagonist to move slower. There is no method to fight back, so players must either hide or keep a close eye on the monster’s movements to avoid being discovered.

Munenori Hirose, who previously directed the detective adventure Tantei Bokumetsu, will direct Yomawari 3. Yu Mizokami, the Yomawari series’ original creator, created the character designs.
