The Green Lantern Corps is an intergalactic force that patrols the farthest reaches of the universe, protecting the peace and preserving justice. Each ‘Green Lantern’ is equipped with a power ring, which allows its owner to create any tools they desire out of green light, with the power of their imagination alone.
When a severely injured alien by the name of Abin Sur (Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814) crash-lands on Earth, ace pilot Hal Jordan’s life changes forever: he is chosen as Abin Sur’s successor – and made the first ever human Green Lantern – by Sur’s own power ring! After a swift induction, Hal’s new role as an intergalactic protector begins, and just in time too: an army of malevolent androids called the Manhunters is rising, whose one aim is total destruction of the Green Lantern Corps.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is packed with space-age combat and exploration, all in multi-plane, stereoscopic 3D graphics. Working as a Green Lantern involves the daily tasks of travelling across space, dodging asteroids, blasting through planets and defeating hordes of enemy troops! Your map will come in handy on your journey – allowing you to scan and illuminate areas to find out more information, as well as displaying your current objectives, helping you to keep on track.

Naturally, saving the world isn’t just a job for anyone, and the challenges will be great. The troops of the android army you’ll be facing are shrewd, strong, numerous and they come in several distinct flavours, each of which poses their own unique challenges.
Beware my power … Green Lantern’s light!
Thankfully, you have the ultimate weapon right to hand – with your power ring you can create all sorts of ingeniously imagined constructs for dealing with enemies: you can think up Gatling guns, giant fists, a claw to bind baddies and more. The varied combat system will also have you making combos of punches, ground pounding, using plasma blast missile attacks, creating bubble shields, and upgrading your abilities as you go along. Learning new tricks will not only make you a better fighter, but can also help you get past previously insurmountable obstacles.
But there are limits – your power ring has a certain amount of charge and every time you create a construct, your available Ring Charge will reduce a little. When it runs out all is not lost though: hold back from using your ring for a while and the meter will slowly refill.
On your travels you’ll also befriend various allies, who can pop up to top up your Ring Charge, and when times get rough, you can pull out the stops with a Will Feat. Even when you have no Ring Charge at all, a Will Feat will help you out of a tight spot, allowing you to dole out beefed up attacks for a brief, timed period. Of course, acting like a big shot isn’t something that you can keep up forever, and you’ll need to cool down for a while before you can let another Will Feat loose on the troops.
