Earlier a massive Capcom data breach resulted in much of the company’s 2021 plans leaking out to the public. Part of it points to what appears to the Great Ace Attorney collection heading to Nintendo Switch as a single collection in Japan – and now it also appears that western fans won’t miss out either.
Additional information from the supposed leak has popped up – which state that this “Great Ace Attorney Collection” for Nintendo Switch will also be getting an official English localization!
A number of supposedly leaked screenshots show the games with official English subtitles. Meanwhile, the leak also shows that pieces of evidence will apparently remain in Japanese, so as to retain their cultural context in the game’s setting.
Cool if true
If the leak is true, however, it would be the first time ever that western folks will be able to officially experience these games in English.
Because since 2015, both Great Ace Attorney games (titled Dai Gyakuten Saiban 1 and Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2) only released for the 3DS/mobile devices in Japan, thus locking them behind a language barrier.
While there have been vigorous efforts by fans to translate both games, many have also been longing official English releases of them to this day.
