Kantan Games – Nintendo Switch Pro + Lite in 2019

Kantan Games – Nintendo Switch Pro + Lite in 2019

Dr. Serkan Toto, a notable analyst of the video game industry who works for Kantan Games, has shared what he thinks will be released in 2019.

Nintendo Switching it up?

Back in 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported Nintendo is working on an enhanced Nintendo Switch hardware revision that would be released in the second half of 2019.

Dr. Serkan Toto believes what the Wall Street Journal says is correct, and in his comments he calls this system the “Switch Pro”.

Besides the Switch Pro, Dr. Serkan Toto believes Nintendo is working on a “Switch Lite”, a scaled down version of the Switch that would appeal to customers on a tight budget.

Where we stand

Personally we feel the Nintendo Switch is still far from done. The system has shown what it can do and that is damn right impressive for what the system is. Think of DOOM, Wolfenstein, Warframe etc.

But sure sooner or later a new iteration should be happening. But we think it’s a bit early for a Switch Pro in the lifecycle. For one. People who have bought a Nintendo Switch as is .. will be very upset by an improved version, I know I would.

A Switch Lite on the other hand, with not detachable Joycons and a dedicated one person D-Pad …  I do see that happening. It is even easier for kids. If you prefer the non-detachable setup etc. You go that way.

But even if the Switch Lite (and Pro) do not happen, the current Nintendo Switch will receive a price cut. Simply put the Switch train has to keep on rolling.
