Nvidia halting production of Tegra X1 chipset

Gamereactor noted a source close to them who works at Nvidia advised them that the multinational technology company is halting production of the Tegra X1. The chipset that’s found in the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite consoles.

The source unfortunately didn’t go on to explain what Nvidia were shifting its focus to, but there could well be a possibility that it’s diverting the production efforts for a new chipset for the heavily rumoured ‘Switch Pro’ console.

Nintendo Switch Pro rumors

Insiders are pointing towards information regarding ‘Nintendo Switch Pro’ exclusive games. Nintendo Switch Pro features and so on. It might be Nintendo has asked Nvidia to look into the next chipset. But who knows for sure. We will have to wait and see.

Where does this leave the Nintendo Switch production though? Because we really can not imagine Nintendo wanting to halt the momentum the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite are still on. But time will tell.
