What to expect from NintendoReporters in 2018

Today is a day when we decided to have less news then you have come to expect from NintendoReporters. That has one reason; Based on feedback we have received from various corners we have spent today mostly  for preparations of new parts of NintendoReporters which will make our platform even better in 2018.

We can already tell you about a few of the things;

Retro items

It is of course nice to write about everything from Nintendo in regards to new software and hardware. But Nintendo has such a huge gaming history that it would be an absolute sin if we did not spend time on that rich past. Therefore we’ve decided to make Retro items an upcoming new element on NintendoReporters It can range from talking about what our experiences with main titles are that made us love Nintendo.  But it can also be about hidden gems which not everybody knows about.

What do we mean by retro, well basically everything before the Nintendo Wii; So the NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, VB, N64, GCN, NDS to briefly mention the systems. In 2018 you can expect Retro items to become a regular thing.

Job openings

Quite simply, we want to grow with NintendoReporters because even though we are already doing wonderful things with a staff of one person, it’s just that we can do so much more with a team. So we are actively setting up job openings for people just like us who have a passion for Nintendo and want to raise NintendoReporters to a higher level with us.

Important caveat is this; We have to grow in order to perhaps later on make these positions paid. Now it is simply not possible for us to make concrete financial contribution for these job openings. The work is therefore voluntary, but we hope to still find the necessary people who have a passion for Nintendo and want to do this in any case for now without such financial benefits.

To give you a suggestion of what er are looking for; https://www.nintendoreporters.com/informatie/vacatures/  (the page is still not fully completed and should still be translated in English but it already gives a suggestion)

In 2018 it is intended that we grow, in terms of our platform itself but also in terms of team.

Advertising, networking etc

Provided, from a personal point of view it’s not important to me to make a profit with NintendoReporters. I have an ‘unhealthy’ passion for Nintendo and I want to share that with everyone. But as you can understand there are various costs associated with running a successful website (even outside the hours we put in, etc.).

In that area I would where possible, of course, prefer to see a bit of overhead, but even breaking even is more important. Therefore in 2018 we are going to look a bit more into advertising besides the options we are currently using through Google. But the main thing to take away from that is that integrity at all times is going to be put above earnings. For more about Advertising please have a look at; https://www.nintendoreporters.com/en/information/advertising/

We have to look carefully how we can make the name NintendoReporters better known to a wider audience. We will look at things like link building, may use some Google Adwords and especially social media (including possibly Social Media Marketing). If you do have a good suggestion for us, we of course would like to hear it.

Popular items

In terms of visits and interactions (comments etc) NintendoReporters should also still grow of course. This is partly to do with items as noted above but we also believe that some bridges on that field can bealready taken now.

We have therefore designed two additional sections in the field of Popularity;

Most Recent Comments https://www.nintendoreporters.com/en/comments/
Where you can go and even filter by topic so you directly see of which is spoken the most on NintendoReporters, always quick and easily.

Basically we have enough work to do in 2018, enough ideas to make NintendoReporters an even better medium for you, our fellow Nintendo-fan. Keep checking back with us in 2018!
