A new Bitsummit digital event for June 27-28 in Japan has been announced and dubbed “Bitsummit Gaiden”.
This online event is meant to replace the original Bitsummit 2020 event which was cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation. The new event will be livestreamed through Bitsummit’s Twitch Channels, and will include the following features:
- The ability to chat with developers through the BitSummit Discord
- The establishment of a “virtual show floor”
- Influencer live streaming
- Play demos of games curated by the BitSummit Committee
About Bitsummit Gaiden
As most of you know, BitSummit The 8th Bit, planned to be held on May 9th and 10th 2020, was canceled due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. However, we recognize the realities of developing and launching a game and we would still like to give everyone that had an interest in being part of BitSummit a chance to be part of the BitSummit Family this year!
Therefore, we’ve created BitSummit Gaiden: an online festival that shines a light on hard-working indie developers, provides a unique platform to showcase their works, and gives their games the visibility we believe they deserve.
More information will be coming about BitSummit Gaiden in the coming weeks. We hope that everyone will see in this new format as a chance to connect with the indie community all over the world and continue to embrace the independent spirit that has made our annual BitSummits so special..
