The official Discord Twitter account did something fun. For those who do not know Discord it’s a voice chat and messaging app used by many gamers.
Recently posted an interesting tweet that went viral with over 54,000 likes and 8,000 retweets.In the tweet,
Discord jokingly asked Nintendo if they can “buy the rights to Waluigi”.
Who is Waluigi?
Wah … just kidding! Waluigi is a character in the Super Mario series that many fans would like to see become part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, but unfortunately it hasn’t happened.

And as you can imagine things went in all directions following. Discord was asked whether they would make its way to Nintendo Switch, and responded it’d happen only if they secure rights to Waluigi.
Possible?
The tweet Discord has put out is a joke designed to amp up attention for Waluigi and to get the attention of fans in general. In that part they really did shine.
But Nintendo will never ever sell the rights to Waluigi, as he is part of the Nintendo Mario Series family… even if he gets neglected every now and again.
Props to Discord for being so bold as to even ask it. Now let’s hope Nintendo get’s on the Waluigi for Smash or even finally his own friggin game train.
