Dr. Mario World – Dr. Rosalina, Dr. Luma, and more

Nintendo published a new trailer showing of the latest Doctors and Assistants that have been added to Dr. Mario World.

The trailer reveals that Dr. Rosalina and Dr. Luma have been added to the game as playable doctors as of the October 4th update. Added alongside them are some new assistants as well as a new map.

Calling Dr’s Rosalina and Luma

Like other doctor characters, both Dr. Rosalina and Dr. Luma come equipped with their own skills; in Stage Mode, using Dr. Rosalina allows the player to move capsule pieces that have stopped moving for seven additional seconds.

In Versus Mode, her skill randomly changes the form of two viruses in an opponent’s stage.

Meanwhile, Dr. Luma’s Stage Mode skill causes viruses in the stage’s lowest six rows to move upward until they collide with another object — with “some exceptions” (what “exceptions” these are aren’t clear).

In Versus Mode, Dr. Luma’s skill causes viruses in the lowest five rows to move upward until they collide with another object — again, with some “exceptions.”

The four new assistants, Star Bunny, Honey Queen, Octoomba, and Bomb Boo also boast skills of their own.

In Stage Mode, Star Bunny grants the player a 10% chance of full-size rainbow capsules with the rainbow meter fills; in Versus Mode, if an opponent attacks, Star Bunny will grant the player a 30% chance the next capsule they receive will be a rainbow one.

Honey Queen’s Stage Mode skill gives the player a 10% chance that a skill charger will appear on stage start; Honey Queen’s Versus Mode skill grants the player a 30% chance a skill charger on stage start.

In Stage Mode, Octoomba grants the player a 10% chance of having a half-full skill meter on stage start; in Versus Mode, Octoomba decreases time until the player and their opponent’s stages begin to shrink by 10%.

Bomb Boo’s Stage Mode skill grants the player a 5% chance of getting three extra capsules when the number of capsules remaining reaches three; in Versus Mode, Bomb Boo grants the player a 50% chance of a half-full skill meter on stage start.
