E3 2023 – Xbox, Nintendo and Sony will not be present

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will not have three big gaming companies’ presences. IGN has revealed, as part of an exclusive report published, that Nintendo, Xbox, and Sony will not participate in the in-person event edition of E3 that will be held again in 2023.

This comes four years after the most recent E3, which took place in 2019, and was then followed by an event that was canceled in 2020, an online event in 2021, and another event that was canceled in 2022.

Missing the major 3 at E3

According to the sources used by IGN, Nintendo will not be there since there have been rumors of problems between the company and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).

IGN distributed the following statement, which was obtained from a reliable source and relates to ESA, the event’s organizer.

One informed source claims that there have been “ongoing grievances” with the ESA over the last three years, and that the ESA is to blame for these concerns since they “seriously bungled the E3 brand over the previous three years.” They questioned ReedPop’s management of the event and supported the claims of other IGN sources who said some prominent E3 organizers had left the ESA, “leaving a new crew to pick up after them.” This information was used to substantiate the claims made by those other sources.

IGN was given the following information from Ampere analyst Piers Harding-Rolls, who was provided courtesy of ReedPop, the events business that is assisting with this year’s event.

“The excitement and sense of size that the platform holder stands brought to the exhibition floor will undoubtedly be missed…

Rolls states that it is sad that the physical event is returning at a time when Nintendo is nearing the end of the lifetime of the Switch and there are no signs of a next-gen device being released this year. It seems unlikely that it will have many games to broadcast this year, so skipping it seems like the best option.

The 13th through the 16th of June in Los Angeles, with the 15th and 16th being the “E3 Gamer Days,” which are available to the general public regardless of their association with the media.
