The annual EVO fighting competition will be held in Las Vegas next month, but the organizers revealed that theSuper Smash Bros would not be participating.
In a tweet, EVO’s creators expressed their disappointment that “Nintendo has opted not to continue that heritage with us this year.” We want to honor the Super Smash Bros community with them again in the future.” The EVO tournament will be broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch, and it will begin on Tuesday, March 8th at 5 p.m. PT.

While we are grateful for all of the incredible games that will be joining us in Las Vegas later this year, we want to let you know ahead of time that Super Smash Bros. will not be returning. Since 2007, Evo’s events have produced iconic Super Smash Bros. moments. We’re disappointed that Nintendo has decided not to carry on the tradition with us this year. We want to celebrate the Super Smash Bros. community with them again in the future.
